Visual Connections Receives Additional ISO Designations
Visual Connections is pleased to announce that it has received two additional International Organization for Standardization (ISO) certification designations: ISO/IEC 15288:2008 and ISO/IEC 26514:2008.
We earned these nationally-recognized qualifications after successfully completing an in-depth review of our systems/software engineering processes and documentation. The audit was conducted in February 2015 by a third party vendor that uses all ISO/CASCO acceptance standards and is accredited by American Board of Accredited Certifications. More information about each ISO certification standard is below.
ISO/IEC 15288:2008 establishes a common framework for describing the life cycle of systems. It defines a set of processes and associated terminology. These processes can be applied at any level in the hierarchy of a system’s structure. This is accomplished throughout the life cycle and through the involvement of all interested parties, with the ultimate goal of achieving customer satisfaction.
ISO/IEC 26514:2008 provides requirements for the design and development of software user documentation as part of the life cycle processes. It defines the documentation process from the viewpoint of the documentation developer. ISO/IEC 26514:2008 also covers the documentation product. It specifies the structure, content, and format for user documentation, and also provides informative guidance for user documentation style. It is independent of the software tools that may be used to produce documentation, and applies to both printed documentation and on-screen documentation. Much of ISO/IEC 26514:2008 is also applicable to user documentation for systems including hardware.
In addition to the two new ISO designations noted above, Visual Connections also holds 9001:2008, 20000:2011, and 27001:2013 certifications.
