Frederick Deese, CEO and Founder of Visual Connections Featured in Cover Story for FedHealth IT Magazine
Visual Connections’ CEO and Founder Frederick Deese was featured on the cover of the debut issue of Fed Health IT Magazine, a digital and print publication focused on providing perspective from Fed Health IT leaders along with insight and intelligence.
The magazine is published by G2Xchange Health, an online community platform developed exclusively for the Federal Health IT executive. Fred was interviewed about CMS and the challenges small businesses face when trying to break into CMS IT work. Visual Connections, a certified SDVOSB and HUBZone firm, has had success at CMS, having worked on 10 contracts at the agency, including one prime contract.
“CMS is one of the toughest agencies to break into for a small business,†Fred says in the article. “The underlying driver for our success is contracts that require CMS to meet its small business goals. The large businesses then have to reach out to partner with health information technology focused small businesses who are SDVOSB and HUBZone certified…†he says, noting that CMS has historically had challenges meeting its SDVOSB and HUBZone goals. “We are out here. CMS just needs to give us a chance to compete.â€
Fred says in the article that the single biggest opportunity at CMS is in the area of “data analytics.†“There are a number of leaders in the commercial sector that can really help fill some of the gaps,†he says. “As the pain level increases, there is going to be a lot of opportunity for new solutions in data analytics.â€
